Last week, the Independent Hotel Show (IHS) Miami brought together over 200 innovative companies and industry leaders focused on shaping the future of boutique, luxury, and independent hotels. From curated product showcases to dynamic seminars and networking opportunities, the show delivered aspirational and practical insights for hoteliers and designers alike.
For Decorator Industries, the event was more than just an opportunity to showcase our capabilities—it was a chance to connect directly with boutique hotel owners and operators, and to reinforce a message that’s at the core of everything we do: every hotel is unique, and its interiors should be too.

Meeting Boutique Hoteliers Where They Are
One of the standout aspects of the show was the ability to connect with smaller, independent hotel companies. Unlike large brands driven by standardized requirements, boutique properties are often looking for creative, flexible solutions that reflect their individuality.
Many of the owners and operators we spoke with shared the same challenge: the standard options on the market don’t always fit the needs of unique properties. That’s where Decorator Industries comes in—our focus is on creating custom window solutions, bedding, and full-scale project support designed to help each hotel tell its own story.
A Spotlight on Education & Industry Trends
In addition to the exhibit floor, the Independent Hotel Show offered an engaging lineup of seminars and educational sessions. Topics ranged from operational challenges to guest experience innovations—many of which underscored the importance of design as a differentiator in the boutique hotel market.
The Pillow Project: Creativity in Action
A highlight of our booth this year was The Pillow Project, a live sketch competition that invited boutique-minded designers to showcase their creativity. This interactive experience not only sparked conversations about design possibilities but also showcased how customization and imagination can transform interiors—whether it’s a single product or an entire space.
The competition was a fun, hands-on reminder of what makes boutique design so special: it’s personal, creative, and memorable.
Looking Ahead
The Independent Hotel Show reinforced the growing demand for tailored, boutique-driven design solutions across the hospitality sector. At Decorator Industries, we’re committed to being the partner that helps hoteliers bring their unique vision to life—whether through a single custom detail or a complete project solution.
If you’re a designer, developer, or hotel operator looking for a partner who understands the challenges and opportunities of boutique hospitality, we’d love to connect.
