Cubicle curtains or privacy curtains are used in hospitals, nursing homes and many other areas where temporary privacy is necessary. They are fabricated with or without mesh headings. Standard mesh is 20 - 22” white nylon with ½” diagonal holes to meet the fire code.  The heading has grommets spaced every 6” on center. Cubicle curtains are suspended from the ceiling using extruded aluminum track and carriers.

All fabrics and mesh used to make cubicle curtains must be Flame Retardant and meet fire code #701 of the National Fire Prevention Association, Boston MA and California Fire Marshall Title 19 test methods for vertical flammability. Typically, the finished width of a cubicle curtain is 10% wider then the track length. The cubicle curtain height is determined by the floor-to-ceiling height and cubicle curtains usually finish approximately 12” to 15” above the floor.

We offer a wide assortment of cubicle fabrics specifically designed for the healthcare industry. Our polyester cubicle fabrics are 100% inherently flame retardant, washable and some offer Antimicrobial properties

The most widely used cubicle fabrics are 72” wide woven fabrics. It is common practice to railroad cubicle fabric whenever possible in the manufacturing process. On occasion, the direction of the pattern may prevent railroading. Be aware, that when using 72” cubicle fabric railroaded, the maximum length of the cubicle curtain with mesh, will be approximately 87-88”, and 65-66” if no mesh is used.

Cubicle Curtain Styles

With Mesh ( ½” size holes in color white)

This is the most common type of cubicle curtain. Most states require cubicle curtains with mesh to allow distribution of water from sprinklers in case of fire. The mesh also allows for more ventilation and lighting within the space.

Without Mesh

A small segment of the market does not allow cubicle curtains with mesh. To address state and local fire ordinances, the cubicle track is suspended from the ceiling with 20” drops to allow for a free flow of water from sprinklers in case of a fire.
