According to the April 2011 STR/ McGraw Hill Construction Dodge Pipeline Report, released earlier this week, there is over 3,000 total active U.S. hotel development projects underway. These numbers reveal good news—that the existing hotel room supply continues to grow. The report states that 322,423 hotel rooms are currently in the planning stages or under construction, as the poll does not factor in projected buildings in pre-planning phases.

In these recent economic times, many businesses have experienced a decrease in growth and production. But, the March 2011 STR/McGraw Hill Construction Dodge Pipeline report revealed encouraging news for the hospitality industry. According to the report, there are a total of 3,095 hotel projects on the rise in the United States, which translates to 325,407 hotel rooms.
